Conservation International is seeking a Project Manager to support our work in the Center for Environmental Leadership in Business (CELB). Within Conservation International, CELB’s purpose is to engage the private sector worldwide in creating solutions to critical global environmental problems in which industry plays a defining role. CELB connects with the private sector to develop and implement tools, methodologies, policies, and practices that contribute to biodiversity conservation. The Project Manager of Technical Solutions for CELB will implement and supervise projects involving corporate partners by creating work plans and budgets and contributing to Conservation International and CELB communications, funding proposals, and donor reports. The Project Manager will also assess key corporate partnerships for CELB and evaluate opportunities to integrate climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies into existing partnerships and management systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for various projects including, but not limited to, corporate biodiversity action plans and major, long-term CELB corporate relationships
  • Assess supply chain management tools to identify practical strategies for integrating best practices for climate change mitigation and adaptation; work with a cross-divisional team to develop and implement these strategies within key partnerships
  • Serve as advisor and project manager for CELB partnerships involving results assessments and monitoring and evaluation
  • Lead the organization and analysis of external and internal stakeholder reviews on conservation purchasing guidelines and other tools and methodologies developed by CELB  
  • Work with CI field programs to identify and utilize local best practices and performance targets for integration within existing supply chain management systems

Working Conditions:

The position may require up to 20% of domestic and international travel to carry out project activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and project assessment processes
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze relevant technical information
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work in team settings across cultures and internally within a diverse institution
  • Ability to deliver results while managing competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Capability to interact effectively with corporate partners and with other non-governmental organizations
  • Passion for international conservation of nature and commitment to engagement with business to address environmental problems

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the coffee industry, including supply chain management systems and certification programs
